Crime Fighters: $10,000 reward in '08 Coatesville double murder

COATESVILLE, Pa. (WPVI) -- It's been more than seven years since a young couple was murdered execution style inside a Coatesville home and now a $10,000 reward is being offered to find their killers.

At the time of her death, 21-year-old Shontae Peterson had been in a relationship with 24-year-old Carnell Parker for nearly a year.

"My daughter was everything. She was my only daughter. She had a bright future," said Betsy Branch, Peterson's mother.

On Saturday night July 5, 2008 Parnell had gone out with some family and friends.

Peterson stayed behind at Parnell's house in the 200 block of Charles Street in Coatesville.

Parnell returned home early the next morning on July 6th alone.

Police say sometime after 2:30 a.m., both Parnell and Peterson were shot.

Parnell's younger sister was also in the home but was unharmed.

"This was a very bold attack by these perpetrators. These two individuals were taken to the living room of the home and shot in the back of the head execution style," said Michael Noone, Chester County District Attorney's Office.

"I've very, very, very angry. I'm mad inside - this didn't have to be," said Branch.

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $10,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

"I just want answers. I want these people put away," said Branch.

For Branch, the seven years that have passed haven't dulled her pain.

"It's not right when a mother has to put a child in the grave. It's not right. It's not right, it's not normal," she said.
