Pottstown apartment building evacuated after shooting

POTTSTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police evacuated residents after a shooting at a Montgomery County apartment complex.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Highland Manor Apartments located on the 800 block of East Schuylkill Road in Pottstown.

Gunfire erupted before the intense storms moved in the area.

Images from the Action Cam shown on Action News at 5:30 a.m. showed several police and rescue crews on the scene of the shooting.

The victim is currently in critical condition.

There's no word on what sparked the shooting.

Police have not said if a suspect has been arrested.

Authorities say the evacuation was simply a precaution.
