Deadly shooting at playground in Frankford

FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- Gunfire on a playground in Philadelphia's Frankford section has claimed a life and left a man critically injured.

It happened at 10:30 p.m. Friday at the playground at Hawthorne and Meadow streets.

Police arrived to find a 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old man shot multiple times.

Medics rushed both to Temple University Hospital.

The 27-year-old did not survive. The 24-year-old is in critical condition.

There was no immediate word what led to the shooting.

Police are working to find the person or persons responsible.
