New Year turns violent in Chester, Pa.

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- After setting a record with 49 homicides in 2014, Delaware County has already had its first of the New Year.

Less than an hour into 2015, police were called to the 1400 block of Culhane Street in Chester, where 22-year-old Ramon Anderson was found lying in the yard of a home.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say several shots had been fired.

30 of last year's homicides were in Chester, which was a record for the city.
