HAVERFORD, Pa. (WPVI) -- The No. 1 high school boy's lacrosse in the entire country plays in our own backyard.
For the second time since 2011, the Haverford School is top ranked in the United States and undefeated.
This year the team is 25-0.
Does Coach John Nostrant think they are the best team he's ever had?
"Probably. It's definitely the deepest - this team is pretty talented," he said.
And the Fords play the toughest schedule in the nation too.
Since the Haverford School is not apart of the PIAA, they can't play for a state title.
However this past weekend they won the Inter-Ac Challenge - a tournament for the top local private schools.
"It's a pretty unreal feeling - to be honest with you. I remember seeing past teams who were number 1 in the nation in this area. And we always aspired to be like those guys," said Lane Odom.
The Haverford School has one final game on Friday afternoon against Culver Academy - last year's No. 1 ranked team in the country.
The Fords hope to score one last win to complete their stellar season.
"We have a chance to put an exclamation point on a season that you guys will remember, regardless, for your whole life," said Coach Nostrant during a pep talk.
"This is last time I'm putting on Fords jersey. We wanna leave our mark and I think we've successfully done that and at the same time, none of us want it to end," said Grant Ament.
For these kids, their days of playing lacrosse are far from over. Nearly half of their roster is committed to playing Division 1 lacrosse in college.
