Lenny Dykstra speaks on his time in prison

The 1993 Philadelphia Phillies are arguably the most exciting squad in the team's history. But Lenny Dykstra claims just about anyone who was good on that team was doing steroids and he started taking them after he was traded here in 1989.

In a new tell all book called 'House of Nails,' Dykstra says he took performance enhancing drugs to keep up with the grueling baseball schedule and so he could get paid millions of dollars

And also for a competitive edge, Dykstra says he paid private investigators to dig up dirt on umpires.

All of this happened before he went to jail.

On ESPN Wednesday, Dykstra admitted he's not proud of everything he's done.

While in prison, he said he learned a lot of things.

"I learned a lot. I learned humility. I learned about how to treat people. I'm not suggesting people go to prison to learn these things, but when you're in a cage for two years, you kind of have a long time to think," Dykstra said.
