NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Two guards and a police sergeant were stabbed inside a Northeast Philadelphia prison Monday afternoon, authorities say.
The incident took place around 2:00 p.m. at the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center located on the 8300 block of State Road.
Prison officials say a fight broke out in facility. The guards and sergeant were stabbed while trying to break up the fight.
The three were transported to Aria Health Torresdale.
Police say the suspect is a prisoner charged with burglary and assault.
The prison was placed on lockdown after the stabbing.
