A new study says a popular heartburn medication might be doing silent damage to blood vessels.



Lab tests show Nexium sped up the aging of blood vessel cells.



That may explain past studies showing people using similar drugs long-term have higher rates of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney failure.



The maker of Nexium says it's safe when used as directed, but doctors say many people use it longer than recommended
