Police: Teacher posed as woman to solicit sex from teen

PIKE CREEK, Del. -- A Delaware high school teacher has been accused of posing as a woman and offering a sex act to a 16-year-old boy behind a store.

Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale says 34-year-old Brian R. Budd arranged to meet the boy early Wednesday. Budd pretended to be a 20-year-old woman in a text to the teen and asked him to allow Budd to perform a sex act. The boy called 911.

Budd was arrested and charged with sexual solicitation of a child under 18 to engage in a prohibited sexual act.

It's unclear whether he has an attorney.

Budd is the athletic director at McKean High School in Wilmington and he also teaches math and coaches swimming there.
