Teenager struck by Philadelphia police car

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A teenage boy was injured after being struck by a police cruiser in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened shortly after 6 p.m. Monday along the 1700 block of South 56th Street.

Police say the officer was responding to a call when his cruiser hit the 16-year-old boy.

Medics transported the boy to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he is stable.
