NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Temple University's medical school has a new name in honor of the late businessman and philanthropist, Lewis Katz.
The Lewis Katz School of Medicine was named officially during a celebration Tuesday morning.
Katz died in a plane crash in 2014.
Prior to his death, the Philadelphia Inquirer co-owner donated $25 million dollars to Temple.
That gift was the single largest donation in Temple's history.
Katz was a Temple graduate and served on its board of trustees.
