Honoring the ultimate sacrifice in New Jersey

MT. HOLLY, N.J. (WPVI) -- The Mount Holly, New Jersey Police Department paid tribute to three fallen officers Monday.

This was the annual tribute for Patrolmen Donald Aleshire and John Holmes of the Mount Holly Police Department and William Wurst of the Hainesport Police Department.

Aleshire and Wurst were shot by a sniper on Garden Street back in 1975.

Holmes was hit and paralyzed, and died from his wounds 17 years later.

Each year the Mount Holly Police Department holds this ceremony to honor their service and their sacrifice.
