Mayor Kenney makes middle school visit

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Thursday is World Heritage day and Philadelphia's mayor celebrated with students at Tilden Middle School.

The students performed songs and dances, and showed off artifacts representing their heritages.

At the event, Mayor Kenney pledged to keep Philadelphia a sanctuary city and protect immigrant students and their families.

After he spoke, the mayor held a question and answer session with a group of immigrant students about what they love about Philadelphia.
