CLEMENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Authorities say the parents of a young girl found wandering by herself at Clementon Park and Splash World will not be charged.
Employees at the park on Berlin Road in Clementon, New Jersey found the 3-year-old girl at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
The workers took her to the park office and called police.
At first, calls to other police agencies, including Philadelphia and Camden, for reports of a missing child also produced no leads.
A few hours later officers with the state's Department of Children and Families took the child into custody.
The girl's parents were eventually located on Sunday morning and questioned.
Officials say it appears the incident was the result of a misunderstanding among family members who were together at the park.
The child's parents thought she was with her grandmother while the grandmother thought the child was with other relatives.
The family didn't realize until Sunday morning that the girl was missing and that's when they called police.
The little girl will be released back to her parents and no charges will be filed.
