Not a tornado in Cumberland County, officials say

UPPER DEERFIELD TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- The National Weather Service confirmed storm damage in Cumberland County was due to straight-line winds, not a tornado.



Meteorologists determined a "microburst" with winds up to 85 miles an hour swept through Saturday night.

Electric linesmen were busy Monday along Route 77 in Upper Deerfield Township repairing half a dozen poles snapped by the gusts.
