Ambulance, SUV collide in Newport, Delaware

NEWPORT, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police say two people have been injured after a crash involving an ambulance.

It happened at 7 a.m. Wednesday at Boxwood and Centerville Roads in Newport.

The ambulance was responding to an emergency call when it collided with an SUV.

Both drivers were taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

There was no immediate word on the extent of their injuries.

State police are investigating.
