Police ID suspect in theft of umpire's wallet

HATFIELD TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- The Hatfield Township Police Department has identified the suspect wanted in the theft of a baseball umpire's wallet.

The suspect is identified as Charles J. Campbell, Jr. of Hatfield, Pa.

Campbell, who is still being sought, is charged with Forgery, Access Device Fraud, Theft and related offenses.

The theft occurred on June 14.

Police say the victim was umpiring a baseball game at School Road Park in Hatfield Township and upon returning to his vehicle found someone had stolen his wallet.

The victim's stolen credit cards where then used to make purchases at several retail establishments in Hatfield and Towamencin Townships.

Police released store surveillance video that captured the suspect and his vehicle.

Due to media coverage, police were able to identify the suspect as Charles J. Campbell, Jr.
