Man taken into custody after Lawndale barricade situation

LAWNDALE -- Police say a man has been taken into custody after a barricade situation in the city's Lawndale section.

Officers were called to the 7400 block of Lawndale Street Wednesday evening for a report of a man with a knife.

Upon arrival, police declared a barricade situation.

The incident was brought under control around 9:30 p.m., police say.

No injuries were reported, but the man was taken to Friends Hospital for evaluation.
