Caught on video: Fireworks explode in car's trunk

HOUSTON, Tex. (WPVI) -- Investigators think they know what ignited hundreds of fireworks inside a car's trunk.

Hundreds of people ran for cover as fireworks shot through a parking lot in Houston, Texas on New Year's Eve.

Hurara Hassan's trunk exploded in a massive light show after a lit firework fell on top of the more than 600 packaged fireworks he had stashed in the trunk.

Amazingly, no one was injured.

Hassan said his car is in need of serious repair, but is not totaled.

He also says he still plans on using fireworks to ring in 2019.
