HARRISBURG, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Pennsylvania lawmaker is taking steps to limit the reasons why parents can skip vaccinations for their children.
Representative Mike Schlossberg, a Lehigh County Democrat, is co-sponsoring a bill with a Chester County republican that would eliminate vaccine exemptions for philosophical reasons.
In Pennsylvania, parents can also decide to forgo vaccinations for medical and religious reasons.
Schlossberg says the state has the third worst vaccination rate in the country at 87 percent.
