South Jersey 11-year-old turns entire home into a haunted house

NORTHFIELD, New Jersey (WPVI) -- 11-year-old Jason Barr embodies the spirit of Halloween, having turned his entire home into a haunted house for friends and neighbors to enjoy.

Barr was diagnosed with autism when he was 2 years old. He also has lower muscle tone in his legs and arms.

His mom, Lisa DeMario, says that it would be difficult for Barr to participate in physical activities such as baseball or football.

Despite any challenges, Barr has turned his passion for haunts into his 'sport.'

He has filled his entire home with animatronics, jump scares, skeletons and ghosts. From the front yard to the basement, nearly every inch of the house is part of the experience.

Over the years, he has invited friends, family, teachers, and neighbors to visit.

DeMario says they've only been able to extend the invitation to those within their neighborhood as a result of the size of the home and the amount of hands on deck.

But in the future, they hope to develop a haunted house in a separate location as a full-time job that guests from across the region can visit.

Watch the video above to see the house of horrors in action.
