Lavender fields are blooming at South Jersey couple's farm

WOODSTOWN, New Jersey (WPVI) -- The seeds of Field and Flock Lavender Farm in South Jersey were figuratively planted over 30 years ago by two high school classmates turned husband and wife.

Kim and George Reeves met as high school students in Levittown, Pennsylvania. They got married in 1994 and subsequently moved to Glassboro, New Jersey.

Then, they pursued their dream of owning land and managing their own farm.

For most of the past 22 years, the Reeves family farm specialized in producing hay. But in the fall of 2020, they branched out into the field of lavender plants.

Over the past six years, Field and Flock Lavender Farm has grown to over 2,000 plants.

Guests who are interested in visiting the farm this summer have until early July before the plants are harvested.

Field and Flock Lavender Farm is open to guests on Saturdays and Sundays. Visitors can stroll through two of their fields. Guests are not permitted to pick their own flowers, but can explore a shop full of lavender-related products.

Some products, like essential oils and soaps, are produced on site by Kim and George. They also offer lavender ice cream, lemonade, and more.

They occasionally host events such as sunset viewings, yoga, and distilling classes.
