Vineland police say they've arrested and charged the driver responsible for a deadly hit and run last month.

VINELAND, N.J. (WPVI) -- Vineland police say they've arrested and charged the driver responsible for a deadly hit and run last month.

29-year-old Juan Cruz-Garcia surrendered to police early Wednesday morning.

Detectives say he was the person driving a white pickup truck that killed 49-year-old Armando Lopez.

It happened near the intersection of Delsea Drive and Landis Avenue.

Authorities credit police work and a tip from a confidential informant for the break in the case.

"He saw our flyer with the vehicle description and he knew this particular driver owned that vehicle and he hadn't seen him operate that vehicle since the collision," Vineland Police Sgt. Baron McCoy said.

Cruz-Garcia is charged with vehicular homicide and driving with a suspended license.

He's being held on $150,000 bail.
