APEX, N.C. -- The community is rallying around a N.C. mom who recently learned that after raising six boys she's pregnant with a seventh child who will finally be a girl.

It was two weeks ago that ABC11 first brought you video of the Cher Lair's ecstatic reaction at a gender-reveal party. The video has since gone viral.

Lair told ABC11 that she is still processing the reality she'll soon have another girl besides herself in the house.

"It's actually crazy we're having a daughter," said Lair. "The fact that we're actually have a girl, that's going to be slow to sink in for sure because I don't even know what that means."

The response ever since she cut a celebratory cake and the video of the event went viral has been phenomenal. Her upcoming shower is paid for thanks to the generosity of others.

"The company is called Simply Sunday," said Lair. "They wanted to know could they gift us with a nice social baby shower, which of course we were happy to oblige them and eat."

A merchant from Crabtree Valley Mall also offered clothes off the rack.

"The woman at Bevello she said 'Oh, we recognize you and we watched your video. We love it. We'd love you to have this dress,'" said Lair.

Others have emailed well wishes, sent specially items to the house, and even brought over hand-me-downs.

"Nobody wears new things here. So we're happily taking hand me downs," said Lair.

She feels fortunate people have been so sweet about the family's big surprise and that her little lady is already surrounded by love.

"People have been generous and lovely," said Lair. "It's been good to see people kind of act positively to a big family and to family in general and to say 'Go for it'".

Lair learned in early April she would be having a little girl. She has been raising boys for basically 13 years.

"We got the boy thing on lock," said Lair.

Lair is expecting to meet her new daughter in August.
