NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Repair work is underway to a broken water main in Northeast Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Water Department says a 12-inch main ruptured beneath the 9600 block of Ashton Road early Tuesday morning.
The fire department says water from the broken main damaged some apartments in a nearby complex.
No evacuations were necessary.
There was no immediate word on how many customers were affected by the incident and when the main would be repaired.
