PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisory go into effect very early tomorrow morning as parts of the region brace for heavy snow.

TODAY: Very cold start, sun gives way to late day clouds, high 34. Feeling at best between 20-25.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy with snow developing after midnight, low 26.

Monday's storm is currently moving through the Central Plains. It will continue to track due east bringing a swath of snow and ice across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic.

MONDAY: Steady light snow falling for most of the daylight hours. Temperatures stay below freezing, high 30.

Here are the bullet points:

- Snow develops after midnight and will impact the morning and evening commutes.

- Light, but steady snow falls during the daylight hours.

- There doesn't look to be any one period of really heavy snow so that is good news for keeping up on the roads.

- Temperatures will be below freezing so snow will stick and make untreated surfaces slippery.

- Snow tapers off Monday night

- There will be a very tight snowfall gradient across our area from less than 1" in the Poconos to over 6" in parts of Delaware and South Jersey.

TUESDAY: Behind Monday's storm it's a windy day with 40mph gusts possible. Any snow on the ground will blow which could make for reduced visibility and slick sidewalks, roads and driveways. It's a sunny day, but unseasonably cold, high 30.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny, windy and cold, high 31. Wind chill values will likely be in the teens.

THURSDAY: Partly sunny, windy and cold, high 31. Wind chill values are expected to be in the teens.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and breezy, high 36.

SATURDAY: Temperatures remain below average with increasing clouds. We're watching the potential for a storm, high 35.

SUNDAY: More sun than clouds, still chilly. High 38.
