Patron robbed at motel on City Avenue in Wynnefield

WYNNEFIELD (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating the armed robbery of a motel patron in Wynnefield.

It happened before 4:00 a.m. Thursday at the North American Motor Inn in the 4400 block of City Avenue - just a few minutes after a robbery at a 7-Eleven store 3 miles away on City Avenue.

Investigators say two men, one of them armed, robbed the patron of his wallet, phone and backpack.

Both fled the scene.

The motel customer was not hurt.

Police have not said if they believe the robbery was connected to the earlier 7-Eleven holdup.
