2 officers injured when cruiser hits black ice

The officers were responding to a call when they hit a patch of ice.

Two Philadelphia police officers are in the hospital after their cruiser hit a patch of black ice and slammed into a utility pole.

The crash happened about 2:15 Wednesday morning near 56th and Vine in West Philadelphia.

The officers were responding to a call when they hit the patch of ice.

They both suffered head injuries, but are in stable condition at the hospital.
