Faith Hill's "Kiss" raises $100,000.
Phoenix, April 21, 2008 Hill writes on her Web site that "after
the dinner and awards, it was announced from the stage that someone
would donate $100,000 if I would perform `This Kiss.' I didn't have
my band and I wasn't expecting to perform but how could I turn that
down!"
The event raised nearly 4 and a-half million dollars. Up
for auction was dinner with McEntire at her Beverly Hills home
which brought $250,000 -- twice. McEntire served as emcee and
spontaneously treated guests to impromptu performances throughout
the night. Also on hand at the event was Pam Tillis, who sang the
national anthem.
