Delaware says roulette will join slots

Wayne Lemons, director of the Delaware Lottery Officer, which oversees the state's three casinos, wants to add multi-player, automated roulette games. He hopes to select a vendor by June, and have them installed by the fall.

The roulette games would resemble the electronic poker and blackjack games added in Delaware gaming halls in 2006. There would still be a real roulette wheel and ball.

The local casino industry has become more competitive with slots parlors opening up in Pennsylvania, and new casinos being built in Atlantic City.

Delaware lawmakers first allowed slot machines to be installed at the state's three racetracks in 1996. State officials authorized multi-player machines in 2005.
