Police shoot suspect outside Dunkin Donuts

WOODBURY, N.J. (AP) - March 10, 2008 Authorities say Earl Harris, 36, of Camden, was shot in the arm and pelvis after brandishing a .357-caliber Magnum pistol during a confrontation with police.

Harris is in stable condition tonight at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office says Woodbury police got a call around 11 a.m. about two men knocking on doors in the neighborhood.

Police say the men were looking for drugs. Police caught up with them outside the doughnut shop.

Authorities say Harris pulled out a pistol, and an officer fired his gun twice while exiting his vehicle. Harris was taken to the hospital and his juvenile nephew was taken into custody for loitering before being released to his parents.
