Felicia DeBraux died on Wednesday. The next day, three top Human Services department officials never mentioned her death while testifying during a five-hour Assembly committee hearing on patient conditions.
The 45-year-old Atlantic City's death became known after workers at the Camden County hospital told the Asbury Park Press.
Committee chairwoman Sheila Oliver says she is furious and outraged.
A Human Services spokeswoman says reporting the death at the hearing would have violated privacy considerations.
The cause of the death has not been determined.
