Lori Massey has been fined $1,250. She has also agreed to allow state dog wardens to do unannounced monthly inspections in her home to ensure she does not have more than three dogs.
In November, officers from the Washington Area Humane Society and state dog wardens found between 20 and 30 dead dogs in different stages of decomposition on Massey's property. Seventy-two other dogs were found living in the house.
Massey ran the Calico Creek Critters Rescue shelter from her home. She says she was only really guilty of loving the animals too much. Massey says she wanted to save them from being euthanized.
