Air Force leaders under fire for $50 million contract
WASHINGTON (AP) - April 17, 2008 A report compiled by the Defense Department's Inspector General
will find that the decision to award a publicity contract for the
Air Force's Thunderbirds aerial stunt team did not appear to be a
fair and open competition.
Several defense and congressional officials say the report will
find that improper influence was used to choose a particular bidder
who had ties to a retired general.
