Lucky rescue for seizure victim

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - May 28, 2008 They say timing is everything. Daryl High of Ventnor was certainly in the right place at the right time when he had a seizure and accident Wednesday morning.

A Safety Awareness Motorcade arrived in Wildwood Wednesday afternoon.

It got here after a dramatic detour.

An unscheduled stop that saved a man's life.

They were on Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City when it happened.

50 year old Daryl High suffered a seizure behind the wheel.

His head snapped back and his car lurched forward, sheering off a utility pole and crashing into a beauty parlor.

He didn't have to wait long for help.

"He was unconscious and turning blue and cyanotic," said Herbert Simons of the Pleasantville Police.

Half a dozen officers were on him immediately with first aid.

They administered CPR and managed to get a pulse and stabilized him as they waited for the ambulance.

High was rushed to the hospital, and the officers resumed their motorcade, all in a day's work.

Mr. High is under observation at the hospital. The police say it looks like he'll make a full recovery.
