Police received a 911 call Wednesday evening about a suicidal person, Sergeant Joshua Bushweller said. That person fired on troopers shortly before 9 p.m.; troopers returned fire and killed the person, Bushweller said. No officers were injured, but further details were not immediately available, the spokesman said.
On Saturday, state police shot and killed Richard D. Redmond after he shot at officers who had surrounded his home in Milford. No officers were injured.
