Michael's wife, Melissa, stayed with her husband in the critical care unit through the weekend.
When her water broke at 2 a.m. Tuesday, she informed some nurses and was taken to the maternity ward to give birth to the couple's second child.
Michael, who has diabetes, says he's going to start watching his diet after surviving the ordeal. Doctors say most patients whose hearts race as fast as his did don't survive.
