For this guide, we went straight to our favorite tech experts Grant Clauser at eGear Magazine and Jim Barry with the Consumer Electronics Association. They have researched hundreds and hundreds of products to figure out the coolest ones at the best price. Grant recommends the Coby MP705 which retails for $60 or the iRiver L Player for $69.

"They both play several different music formats, also videos and pictures. They both have FM radios which none of the Apple products have," Grant said.

Jim says if you like making your own movies, try the mini high-def camcorder by Kodak. It's $179 and has a pop-out USB connector for easy uploading.

The 8-megapixel digital camera by Casio also has a YouTube feature. It's $139.

The Audiovox digital picture frame shoots video memos. It also has a calendar so you can attach those messages to certain days. It costs $199.

The Lenmar PowerPort mini portable battery runs $20. Charge it with your computer's USB port then plug it into your cell phone or mp3 player.

If you're looking for a great laptop notebook or NETbook, Grant recommends the $399 Acer Aspire One. Jim likes the Wind from MSI which is 499-dollars.

Take-TV lets you download five hours of TV programs from the internet. Then using Take TV's $99 model, you can watch those shows on a big TV screen instead of your computer.
