One week to the day that Philadelphia Police Sergeant Tim Simpson was killed in a car crash by a suspected drunk driver, yet another police officer was involved in an early morning crash with a suspected drunk driver.

Police say about 2:45 Monday morning, a car rammed a patrol car at Hungting Park and Whitaker Avenue in the Hunting Park section of the city.

The officer was responding to a call of a bar fight.

When the officer arrived at the scene, investigators say a car slammed into his cruiser. The officer then got out of his car and got into a confrontation with the driver of the other car.

During that confrontation, the officer apparently broke his leg. He's being treated at Temple University Hospital.

The driver was taken to Episcopal Hospital where there's no word on his condition.

It is the third time in a week that a Philadelphia police officer has been involved in a crash with a driver suspected of DUI.
