2 injured, 4 displaced by Germantown fire

GERMANTOWN - January 4, 2009 The flames broke out around 1:43 a.m. in the 300 block of West Johnson Street in Building C of the Johnson Arms Apartments. The fire started in an apartment on the first floor and quickly spread to an adjoining apartment before being placed under control at 2:08.

Smoke and water damaged a third apartment.

A man on the second floor of the apartment jumped to the ground and injured his leg. A woman was treated for smoke inhalation. Both were taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment and were released.

Those displaced residents were taken to a local school where the Red Cross was called in to assist with shelter.
