Robber targets handicapped woman

STANTON, Del. - February 10, 2009 - It happened around 1:40 p.m. Monday at the Limestone Medical Aid Facility in Stanton, Delaware.

Police say the 62-year-old victim, who is handicapped and has trouble moving, arrived for a dcotor's appointment. She walked into the building, and attempted to enter one of the suites when a man pretended to help her by partially opening a door.

That's when, police say, the man grabbed her purse from under the woman's left arm. He fled out of the building into an illegally parked car, described as a newer model Nissan with Delaware license plates.

Anyone who may recognize the suspect is asked to call 302-633-5000- ext 760. Tips may also be forwarded to law enforcement through tip lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or on line at www.tipsubmit.com.
