Brush fire burns 3 acres in the Northeast

February 12, 2009 10:59:26 AM PST
Firefighters battled a large brush fire in the city's northeast section late this morning. The fire was first reported around 11:30 in the 8300 block of Rose Petal Drive in the area of Rhawn and Algon.

3 acres reportedly burned before firefighters were able to bring the flames under control shortly before noon.

No word yet what sparked the fire, but obviously the winds made fighting the fire even more difficult.

CSX train traffic was stopped in the area while officials battled the blaze.
