Daughter, mother shot in crossfire

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - March 21, 2009 It happened around 4:45 p.m. at 66th Street and Elmwood Avenue.

Police say one group of teens in a car fired at another group of teens at the intersection.

The 15-year-old girl and her 41-year-old mother were caught in the crossfire.

The girl was hit twice in her stomach.

She was taken to Children's Hospital in critical condition.

The mother did not realize she was hit until she was at the hospital with her daughter.

The mother suffered a graze wound to her stomach.

Both victims had been involved in an auto accident prior to the shooting and were waiting for a ride when they were hit.

Police say the auto accident was unrelated to the shooting.

No arrests have been made.
