Fire damages building at Fort Monmouth

FORT MONMOUTH, N.J. (AP) - March 26, 2009 Fort Monmouth spokesman Lenny Gatto says the fire was reported in a research laboratory on the second floor of the Myer Center around 1:10 a.m.

Gatto says it took the Army post's fire company, along with fire departments from surrounding towns, about two hours to extinguish the flames.

The cause is under investigation.
