Police: Pa. man spiked ex's drinks with cleaners

April 6, 2009 7:43:48 AM PDT
State police say a northwestern Pennsylvania man spiked a woman's drinks with cleaning products after she broke up with him. Police in Girard are not releasing the suspect's name because he has yet to be arrested on charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

Police say the incident happened about 6 a.m. Sunday when the 25-year-old man put bleach in a bottle of liquor and powdered cleanser in bottles of drinking water. Police say the man later had an acquaintance of the woman warn her not to drink the beverages after they were spiked, however.

It was not immediately clear when police will take the man into custody.
