BROWNSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - April 14, 2009
Thirty-year-olds Jennifer Gaster and Daniel Martin II are
accused of snorting cocaine and drinking beer and vodka the night
before they found the baby dead. That happened June 6 about 10 a.m.
in their home in Luzerne Township, about 30 miles south of
Pittsburgh.
Defense attorney Thomas Shaffer says tests will show the child
didn't have drugs or alcohol in her system, even though Gaster
breast fed the child, meaning Gaster wasn't intoxicated as police
contend.
Witnesses at a preliminary hearing Monday say the couple drank
heavily and used cocaine.
