The missing money was discovered in early February, 2009. Marvel, who was the treasurer for the Lodge and had been for approximately nine years, was placed on Administrative Leave with Pay.
After the investigation, authorities say Marvel took $16,144 from the Lodge, and charged $1,212 to the organization's credit cards without prior approval or authoritzation from the Lodge's board.
Marvel is now on leave without pay. He was released on $3,000 unsecured bond pending a preliminary hearing.
