Fire rips through Kensington house

KENSINGTON - April 22, 2009

An early morning fire has badly damaged a row home in Kensington.

The blaze broke out about 4:20 Wednesday morning in the 2500 block of Salmon Street.

Flames raced through a third flood bedroom in the rear of the house.

Firefighters managed to keep the fire from spreading to the rest of the home.

They got it under control in about 15 minutes.

There's no word yet on a cause, but firefighters called in PECO to investigate the possibility that the house was hooked up to an illegal electrical box.

There are no reports of injuries.
