School charged with false alarms

The Pennsylvania State Police have filed charges against Oley Valley School District. Between December 10, 2008 and May 9, 2009 the State Police responded to 11 false alarms at the Oley Valley High School at 17 Jefferson Street.

It is a violation of the Pennsylvania state law to cause or permit in excess of three false alarms within a consecutive 12 month period.

The most recent false alarm was on May 4, 2009 at 10:55 a.m.

A non traffic citation was filed at magisterial district court charging the Oley Valley School District with violating entitled "control of Alarm Devices & Automatic Dialing Devices."
