Pickpocket warning issued in University City

May 19, 2009 5:01:20 AM PDT
The University of Pennsylvania is warning students to be on alert for thieves. As you know, almost every college student carries around a purse, a backpack, or some sort of bag. You want to keep a close eye on those items right now as Penn Police are now looking for a pick pocketing suspect.

Now police are advising everyone to use common sense precautions. Don't hang your purse on the back of your chair and don't put your bag where you cannot see it. Always keep your belongings zipped up and when standing in line, be sure to place that bag around in front of you where you can see it.

Penn Police and Philadelphia Police hope you will report anything suspicious so that they can stop the pocket.
